BNVTS holds Gender Sensitivity Training

Bulusan National Vocational Technical School conducted one-day training on Gender Sensitivity Training held on March 27, 2017 at TWSP Building with the invited 48 participants from the 24 barangays of Bulusan.

The one-day training reiterated the difference between sex and gender as well as the importance of a gender-sensitive community.

​

Diño stressed the importance of participating and being aware of the programs for gender and development, as well as mentioning the various mandates designed to address gender issues such as R.A No. 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, Convention on the elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Millennium Development Goals of 2015, the Philippine Pan for Gender-responsive Development and the Philippine Development Plan (2011-2016).

More so, the activity is in pursuant of the Observance of the Prescribe Guidelines in the Implementation of Gender and Development Activities and part of National Women’s Month Celebration. Also, the training illustrates the initiatives and activities undertaken to capacitate the network of GAD Focal Persons in TESDA to implement the mainstreaming in the TVET institutions.

The event was realized through the initiative by Clarissa Javier, BNVTS GAD Focal; Gina Aguilar, Placement Officer and Senen Aguilar, Student Government Adviser; it all concluded with remarkable outputs and positive response.
