BNVTS supports the war on Drugs and Gender & Development Awareness
In support of the school’s war on Drugs and Gender equity, the school organized a one-day seminar on Drugs and Gender and Development Awareness program held at Food and Beverages Services building on the 14th of October 2016.

A message from Mr. Senen Aguilar and Gerardo Aguilar, trainer in Automotive NC II and EIM NC II, correspondingly, officially opened the one-day seminar. Guidance counsellor designee, Mrs. Clarissa Javier introduced the distinguished speakers from the province of Sorsogon and municipal police department, Fiscal Erwin F. Honra and PO2 Diana E. Tolosa, respectively.

Fiscal Edwin F. Honra, Assistant Provincial Prosecutor provided discussion on the “whys” and “hows” and situational analysis on human trafficking, and laws implemented for the protection of women and children’s rights. He gave emphasis on the providing equal opportunity for both men and women. Fiscal Honra cited the provisions and amendments on RA 9262 which conferred to address violence committed against women and children. On the other hand, PO2 Tolosa discoursed the by-laws on illegal drug trade and its harmful effect to men. Tolosa emphasized the ways on preventing the usage of drugs and the measures taken if caught and tested positive on drugs.

The guidance office as the facilitating committee and other supporting staff provided token for the speakers as token of gratitude. The seminar concluded with the distribution of snacks and certificates to the attendees.
